I invite you on this 14th Mindfulness inspiration, to take some time with me, to pause and 'be' in the now with me.
Don't worry about tomorrow, don't think about the day just gone, let's practice being present right here, in this moment.
We can do this by focusing first on our breathing. Consciously deepen and slow down each breath, while counting to 3 on the in breath through your nose. Then on the outbreath, slowing down the exhale through the mouth and counting to 4. Repeat this with me 4 more times. If it helps, focus your attention on your diaphragm noticing the rise and fall of your stomach as you breathe.
I encourage you to persevere through any restlessness or the urge to fidget. Hang in there :)
Once you finish your conscious breaths, revert back to breathing normally and let's sit and practice noticing. Noticing the environment around you and your body. The sounds, the smells, the sensations. Simply sit and notice. That's it. Sit in this moment for a little while longer and allow yourself to 'be' this way simply. Try and relax into it. This state of being.
You've just given yourself a few minutes of mindfulness. Yay! Try this simple exercise daily. It does your mind and body and spirit so much good!.
Until next time, have a great week
Cath xoxo
